Bogota was founded in 1538 by Spanish colonists and in the last century has been nicknamed “Las atenas Suramericana” The South American Athens.
The people of Bogota are called “Rolo” and have since always been, for no clear reason, the rivals of the Paisa people from Medellin.
Bogota is a large and diverse city, with a million things to see and do, including a diverse nightlife, thousands of parks and the world’s largest cycling network. Dining in Bogota is another great experience in Colombia, with its many different options in food, including local and international cuisine. Bogota has a comfortable climate, all year round, with average temperatures ranging from 12 degrees Celsius to 18 degrees Celsius.
